I stopped in to Proteus Brews by chance as I happened to be driving by after a work program. I am so happy I did, absolutely wonderful people working behind the counter. It is in a bike store which makes the atmosphere feel open and warm yet not crowded. The bakery items all looked amazing, but the cheese Danish I consumed was so delightful I heavily debating getting another. They have local coffee beans for purchase and a healthy selection. The iced Americano is easily one of the best I have ever had. It's smooth, robust and not overwhelming. They take their time and show care in all aspects at Proteus Brews. This is going to be a go to stop for me in the College Park area.

Very cool place! On the cafe side, I haven't had food there but the drinks are *fantastic* and the servers are stellar! Very engaging and helpful!

Came for coffee and a quick browse of their inventory. Friendly and attentive staff. Great coffee! Definitely a nice place to chill, work, and enjoy the ambiance.

One of the best flat whites in the neighborhood! ☕️ Not every coffee shop makes a proper flat white or even knows what it is, but this place does it right. My husband’s a big fan of their cold brew too. We absolutely love it and recommend it to everyone!

Wonderful people and the best coffee around! Truly a hidden gem in College Park. So much better than Starbucks and its great to support a small business.

Such a good espresso. It can be a little slow to get your coffee because there is a singular person behind the counter taking orders and preparing all the coffee. There is one main human who I see most morning. They are very nice and chatty and we have developed a nice rapport.

Anyway, I got desperate and stopped by to find out how wrong I was. They make good coffee. I had a small pastry to go with it. The staff was friendly and started on my order right away. I remember sitting in that bike shop, chewing on my snack, and sipping my coffee, looking insignificant from the outside, but feeling quite happy and content inside.

What a unique concept, a coffee and pastry shop inside a bike shop. Open concept, friendly service, reasonable prices, delicious pastries ( I tried 5 different ones from the nutty sticky bun to the savory cheese and chives pastry), tasty coffee with latte art ( I do appreciate that), additionally fun decorative figurines and box heads around counter…details count 😉.
